One of the very first things I did when we moved into our house this July was start on Fox’s nursery. Why? Well, he was 7 months old by then, and up until that point, had not had a room of his own.
Fox was born in Italy, two months before we were set to leave to move back to America. We didn’t have a lot of space in our apartment at the time, so I didn’t bother setting up a nursery for him for such a short time, and it was kind of better that way anyway, because our furniture was about to spend 6 months in storage, in transit back to America, and then waiting in a warehouse for us to find a house while we lived with my mom.
I missed out all that that essential nesting that happens when you’re pregnant — but that didn’t stop my mind from planning. Needless to say, when we moved into our house, I was ready. I knew exactly what I wanted Fox’s room to look like, and had been collecting things for months to decorate his room.
