Let me tell you something — this Greek trip has been a long time coming. I've basically been trying to get to Mykonos our entire four years in Italy, but flights were always expensive, out of too-far airports or we just couldn't make the schedule line up. We actually booked this trip for Memorial Day weekend, and had to cancel it due to Tyler's work schedule — so when I rebooked it with EasyJet/Volotea for Labor Day, I wasn't sure if it would actually happen! But I'm so glad we finally made it to Mykonos.
Apparently, Mykonos is known as quite the party island, and I wasn't really aware of that until after we booked our trip (call me a square). Being pregnant also didn't really bode well for the partying scene, though we managed to get one afternoon in — yeah, that's how I party, in the afternoon, before I get too tired. But honestly, Mykonos is great whether you're a party animal or not — the food is amazing, you'll never tire of the white buildings and the weather is fantastic (though windy!).
We didn't have lofty goals for Mykonos, much like most of our trips. We just wanted some picturesque spots, maybe a beach or two, and some good food. We had planned to rent an ATV early on, but were really worried about the safety of that, being pregnant and all, so we rented a car, which was perfect because our Airbnb was about 15 minutes from the downtown area (which would've been an interesting, divorce-inspiring trek on an ATV).
Whether you plan to party, want to fill up your Insta feed with blue and white, or just want to beach — I've got some tips for a long weekend in Mykonos!
