There are a lot of things no one tells you you'll discover when you move in with your significant other or get married. Though Tyler and I have been together for about seven years, we never officially lived together throughout college — we had what's called a "stayover" relationship.
So, when we moved to Italy, it was actually the first time that we were grocery shopping together (that man loves fish), doing laundry together and trying to convince (beg) the other to do the dishes. And, did you know that boys can play video games for like, 12 hours straight and ignore all other things, including the need to go to the bathroom? It's fascinating and weird.
Not only were we trying to figure out how to really live with each other, but almost all of the furniture in our new apartment was mine. And, unfortunately for Tyler, I went through a shabby chic, brightly-painted-furniture phase in college.
