It's not often that your sister gets to visit you halfway across the world during your favorite season, but sometimes the stars align and magic happens. My sister Annie took that trans-Atlantic hop last week to visit me in Italy, and I'm not sure if she did so because she loves me or because she wanted to celebrate fall (something her current state of Texas doesn't do). But either way, we touted our most basic tendencies, wore so much flannel, took a ton of selfies (or, "us-ies" as we took to calling them) in front of the fall foliage and planned a trip to a German pumpkin festival for the occasion.
But we couldn't just go to a pumpkin festival — no. We had to show that we loved fall more than the rest of them. So, I broke out my iron-on letters from a previous beloved DIY and we brainstormed the perfect slogan after too much wine (because Italy). We were way too excited about our cleverness, and the shirts came out GOURD-GEOUS (something you're always welcome to use). So we just had to share them with the rest of the world. Get your basic on, fellow b's.
- Prep your ironing space. Lay your shirt on a flat surface (we used an ironing board) and space out your letters. The nice thing is that the letters don't stick, so you can move them around as much as you need! We preferred to space them out a bit. Place them shiny-side down.
- Heat up your iron. Once the letters are in place, place your iron on your letters for 15-20 seconds on the front, pressing firmly. Once you're finished, turn the shirt inside-out and iron for 15-20 seconds on the underside.
- You're ready to wear and go! Share your DIY T-shirt slogans in the comments. Also: Hang dry instead of putting in the dryer, and maybe even hand wash, or the letters will fall off!
**Tip: The letter packs come with two of every letter, so if you want to make multiple shirts, make sure you grab extra!
