As you may have noticed, Theresa and I do not live in the same place, and therefore we do not get to spend a lot of time together — though, boy, our g-chats could inspire a "Gossip Girl" spin-off series. But a few weeks ago, we had the great fortune of spending a whole week together in Brooklyn. So, to commemorate the launch of our blog and just being together for once, we decided to celebrate with donuts and champagne, because we're damn fancy.
We weren't really sure what we wanted to do besides, well, eat donuts and take pictures of them. But, unsurprisingly, and not just because we were so hopped up on sugar (and iced coffee, we have a problem), we had a blast eating our way down the R train.
Our donut adventure included these fine establishments and the following menu items:
- Leske's Bakery
- Peanut butter cup
- Chocolate sprinkle
- Mike's Donuts
- Apple crunch
- Cafe au lait
- Chocolate with cocoa nibbs
- Bagel Schmagel
- Doughnoli (a cross between a donut and a cannoli)
Final verdict? All donuts are amazing, no matter what flavor, as long as they aren't a day old (unless you drank too much champagne the night before, then who cares). Our favorite, however, was definitely Dough in Bed Stuy, and we're super stoked about their new location in Manhattan — way-too-conveniently located very close to Theresa's workspace.
