If you still have a post-Thanksgiving turkey tummy or you've got a mad Christmas cookie addiction, it might be time to break out the blender and some fruit. And chocolate, of course. Always chocolate.
This smoothie is the perfect balance of health and decadence. Although taking diet advice from the duo that brought you a set of pro-gluttony Thanksgiving downloads might seem suspect, the ingredients in this smoothie were chosen with both your health and waistline in mind.
As the packaging on Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter not-so-subtly reminded me, Nutella (which we hold close to our hearts) has about as much sugar in it as frosting. Which is why it's so delicious! But in the interest of your health, invest in a unsweetened chocolate hazelnut butter. It tastes less like candy and more like, well, hazelnuts. But in this flavor-packed smoothie, it's just right.
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 5 ice cubes
- ½ cup nonfat, strained Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons unsweeted chocolate hazelnut butter
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon brown sugar syrup (honey or agave syrup would also work)
Add all ingredients to a blender and crush until smooth. Makes one (large!) serving. Serve with a neon straw for extra cute points.
