Freckle & Fair | A lifestyle blog

Freckle & Fair, a lifestyle blog, is a Midwestern love letter between two friends. We met each other when we were randomly paired as roommates in college at the University of Missouri. The purpose of our blog is to delve into our Midwestern roots as we part ways, moving to our new, exotic, non-ranch-dressing-obsessed, far-reaching homes. It is also an experiment in growing at a crossroads in our lives, as we discover who it is we really want to be, while maintaining a dear friendship that stretches across the ocean. We see our blog as a pretty fluid place to explore ourselves and our new surroundings, but it will often feature recipes, DIY crafts, illustrations, photography and generally just whatever we're into.

We post on Tuesday and on Thursdays when we can actually get it together. Also, feel free to check us out on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and follow us on Bloglovin'. Just don't follow us around in real life — that's weird.

Hi! I’m Katie, the freckle part of the equation. I live for peanut butter, sundresses, presidential facts and board game nights. My background is in photojournalism and casserole making. I will tell you I’m from Kansas City, but my hometown is actually a tiny town of 2,000 people north of the “big city.” I live with my husband and high school sweetheart, Tyler, and our cat, Teddy Roosevelt, in northern Italy, where I communicate almost exclusively in “ciaos” and names of cheeses.

I’m Theresa, the fair-haired one. I love s’mores-themed snacks, typing in all caps and pretending popcorn is a substitute for actual meals. I’m originally from Omaha, corn fed and bred. I spend my days working as a graphic designer at a non-profit film production company and foundation and my nights scheming up new freelance and personal projects. I live in Brooklyn with my tiny and terrifying black cat, Bettie, and more books, paper and ink than my little row house apartment can hold.
